Mammoths? You Bred Mammoths?
Science brings an ancient animal back from extinction and fails to think about the terrifying consequences. Just a plot from a bad movie, right? Wrong.
Straight from the press release:
“Japanese researchers will launch a project this year to resurrect the long-extinct mammoth by using cloning technology to bring the ancient pachyderm back to life in around five years time.”
Read that again. This isn’t Jurrasic Park 4: Mammoth Revenge. This is real.
If it wasn’t all over reputable news sites I wouldn’t believe it.
How are they going to get the DNA? If Speilberg taught me anything it’s that amber and mosquitos are great for breeding T-Rex’s:
“The researchers will try to revive the species by obtaining tissue this summer from the carcass of a mammoth preserved in a Russian research laboratory.”
